JLPT stands for Japanese Language Proficiency Test, which is a standardized test to evaluate and certify the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is administered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services.
NAT stands for Nihongo Noryoku Shiken or the Japanese Language Ability Test, which is another standardized test for evaluating the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers. It is administered by the Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation.
Both JLPT and NAT are widely recognized and used as indicators of Japanese language proficiency by universities, employers, and other institutions in Japan and around the world. The JLPT has five levels, with N1 being the highest level, while the NAT has five levels, with Level 1 being the highest.
